传说四千多年以前,神农氏在尝百草的时候中了毒,几片叶子飘进他烧水的锅里。他喝了那锅水,毒解了。那几片叶子,就是茶。
Legend says that over four thousand years ago the Divine Farmer was poisoned while tasting herbs, and a few leaves drifted into his pot of boiling water. He drank it and the poison cleared. Those leaves were tea.
传说只是传说,但中国人喝茶的历史,确实有两千多年了。最早的茶不是饮料,是药。到了唐朝,陆羽写了世界上第一本关于茶的书《茶经》,从那以后,喝茶成了中国人的日常。
Legend is only legend, but the Chinese have truly drunk tea for over two thousand years. At first it was medicine, not a drink. In the Tang dynasty Lu Yu wrote the world's first book on tea, the Classic of Tea, and from then on tea became daily life.
中国茶分六大类:绿茶、红茶、乌龙茶、白茶、黄茶、黑茶。有意思的是,它们常常是同一棵树上长出来的叶子,只是因为做法不一样,味道就完全不一样了。
Chinese tea comes in six families: green, red, oolong, white, yellow, and dark. Interestingly, they can grow from the very same tree; only the processing differs, and the taste changes completely.
