养一盆花（小丽）

老师lǎo shī给gěi每měi个gè同学tóng xué发fā了liǎo一yī粒lì种子zhǒng zi，让ràng大家dà jiā回家huí jiā种zhòng，看kān谁shéi的de花huā先xiān开kāi。

The teacher gave every student a seed to plant at home: whose flower would bloom first?

小xiǎo丽lì把bǎ种子zhǒng zi种zhòng在zài花盆huā pén里lǐ，每měi天tiān浇jiāo水shuǐ，还huán把bǎ它tā放fàng在zài有yǒu太阳tài yang的de地方dì fāng。

小丽 planted the seed in a pot, watered it daily, and kept it in the sun.

一yī个gè星期xīng qī过去guò qù了liǎo，一yī点diǎn动静dòng jìng也yě没有méi yǒu。小xiǎo丽lì很hěn着急zháo jí，差chà一yī点diǎn就要jìu yào放弃fàng qì了liǎo。

A week passed with nothing at all. 小丽 grew anxious and nearly gave up.

妈mā妈mā告诉gào su她tā：种子zhǒng zi发fā芽yá需要xū yào时间shí jiān，你nǐ每měi天tiān照顾zhào gu它tā，它tā一定yī dìng会huì出来chū lái的de。

Mom told 小丽: seeds need time to sprout; care for it every day and it will surely come out.

又yòu过guo了liǎo一yī个gè星期xīng qī，土tǔ里lǐ终于zhōng yú钻zuān出chū了liǎo一yī个gè小xiǎo绿lǜ芽yá。小xiǎo丽lì高兴gāo xìng得děi叫jiào了liǎo起来qǐ lai。

Another week later a little green shoot finally broke through the soil. 小丽 cried out in joy.

两liǎng个gè月yuè后hòu，花huā开kāi了liǎo。小xiǎo丽lì明白míng bai了liǎo：很hěn多duō好hào东西dōng xi，都dōu是shì慢慢màn màn等děng出来chū lái的de。

Two months later the flower bloomed. 小丽 understood: many good things come to those who wait.
