龟兔赛跑（详读本）

有yǒu一yī只zhī兔tù子zi，跑pǎo得děi飞快fēi kuài，总是zǒng shì看不起kàn bu qǐ别人bié ren。它tā看见kàn jiàn乌wū龟guī走路zǒu lù慢màn吞tūn吞tūn的de，就jìu常常cháng cháng笑话xiào hua它tā。

A hare who ran very fast looked down on everyone. Seeing the tortoise walk slowly, he often mocked him.

乌wū龟guī听tīng了liǎo也yě不bù生气shēng qì，只zhī说shuō：我们wǒ men比bǐ一yī比bǐ，看kān谁shéi先xiān跑pǎo到dào山shān下xià的de小xiǎo河hé边biān，怎么样zěn me yàng？

The tortoise was not angry and only said: let us race to the river at the foot of the hill.

兔tù子zi听tīng了liǎo哈哈hā hā大dà笑xiào：你nǐ这么zhè me慢màn，也yě敢gǎn和hé我wǒ比赛bǐ sài？好hào，比bǐ就jìu比bǐ！

The hare laughed loudly: you, so slow, dare to race me? Fine, let us race!

比赛bǐ sài开始kāi shǐ了liǎo。兔tù子zi一yī撒sā腿tuǐ就jìu跑pǎo了liǎo很hěn远yuǎn，回头huí tóu一yī看kān，乌wū龟guī才cái刚刚gāng gang出发chū fā，还huán在zài慢慢màn màn地dì爬pá呢ne。

The race began. The hare dashed far ahead; looking back, the tortoise had only just started crawling.

兔tù子zi想xiǎng：他tā那么nà me慢màn，我wǒ就是jìu shì睡shuì一yī觉jiào，他tā也yě追zhuī不bù上shàng我wǒ。于是yú shì，它tā就jìu在zài路边lù biān一yī棵kē大dà树shù下xià躺tǎng下来xià lai，很hěn快kuài就jìu睡着shuì zháo了liǎo。

The hare thought: he is so slow I can sleep and he still will not catch me. So he lay down under a tree and fell fast asleep.

乌wū龟guī虽然suī rán爬pá得děi慢màn，但是dàn shì它tā一yī刻kè也yě不停bù tíng。爬pá过guo了liǎo大dà树shù，爬pá过guo了liǎo山坡shān pō，一yī步bù一yī步bù，一直yī zhí朝着cháo zhe小xiǎo河hé爬pá去qù。

The tortoise, slow as he was, never stopped: past the tree, up the slope, step by step toward the river.

等děng兔tù子zi一yī觉醒jué xǐng来lái，太阳tài yang已经yǐ jīng偏piān西xī了liǎo。它tā往wǎng河hé边biān一yī看kān，乌wū龟guī马上mǎ shàng就要jìu yào到dào终点zhōng diǎn了liǎo！

When the hare woke, the sun was sinking. He looked toward the river: the tortoise was almost at the finish!

兔tù子zi急忙jí máng跳tiào起来qǐ lai去qù追zhuī，可是kě shì已经yǐ jīng来不及lái bu jí了liǎo。乌wū龟guī先xiān到dào了liǎo河hé边biān，赢yíng了liǎo比赛bǐ sài。

The hare leapt up and gave chase, but it was too late. The tortoise reached the river first and won.

森林sēn lín里lǐ的de小xiǎo动物dòng wù都dōu来lái看热闹kàn rè nao。小xiǎo鸟niǎo当dàng裁判cái pàn，小xiǎo松sōng鼠shǔ挥huī旗qí子zi，连lián平时píng shí不bù爱ài出门chū mén的de小xiǎo刺cì猬wèi也yě来lái了liǎo。

All the forest animals came to watch: a little bird as judge, a squirrel waving the flag, even the shy hedgehog came out.

比赛bǐ sài前qián，兔tù子zi还huán在zài嘲笑cháo xiào乌wū龟guī：你nǐ爬pá到dào我wǒ睡觉shuì jiào的de地方dì fāng，我wǒ都dōu能néng再zài睡shuì一yī觉jiào。乌wū龟guī不bù说话shuō huà，只是zhǐ shì低头dī tóu系jì好了hǎo le鞋xié带dài。

Before the race the hare still mocked: by the time you crawl to where I nap, I could nap again. The tortoise said nothing and tied his laces.

赢yíng了liǎo比赛bǐ sài的de乌wū龟guī被bèi大家dà jiā举jǔ起来qǐ lai庆祝qìng zhù。兔tù子zi躲duǒ在zài人群rén qún后面hòu mian，脸liǎn红hóng红hóng的de，一句话yī jù huà也yě没méi说shuō。

The winning tortoise was lifted up in celebration. Behind the crowd the hare stood red-faced, silent.

这zhè个gè故事gù shi告诉gào su我们wǒ men：骄傲jiāo ào的de人rén会huì输shū，慢慢màn màn走zǒu但是dàn shì不停bù tíng的de人rén，反而fǎn ér能néng赢yíng。

The story teaches: the proud may lose, while those who move slowly but never stop can win.
