错过公交车（东东）

星期xīng qī一早yī zǎo上shàng，东dōng东dōng起qǐ晚wǎn了liǎo。他tā一yī看kān表biǎo，已经yǐ jīng七qī点diǎn五wǔ十shí了liǎo，公交车gōng jiāo chē马上mǎ shàng就要jìu yào来lái了liǎo。

Monday morning 东东 woke up late. One look at the clock: already seven fifty, and the bus was about to come.

他tā抓zhuā起qǐ书包shū bāo就jìu往wǎng外wài跑pǎo，可是kě shì还是hái shi晚wǎn了liǎo一yī步bù，公交车gōng jiāo chē刚刚gāng gang开kāi走zǒu。

东东 grabbed the schoolbag and ran out, but was one step too late: the bus had just left.

因为yīn wèi起qǐ晚wǎn了liǎo，所以suǒ yǐ东dōng东dōng只好zhǐ hǎo跑pǎo着zhuó去qù上学shàng xué。路上lù shang他tā跑pǎo得děi满mǎn头tóu大dà汗hàn，心里xīn li又yòu急jí又yòu后悔hòu huǐ。

Because of oversleeping, 东东 had to run to school, arriving sweaty, anxious and regretful.

到dào了liǎo学校xué xiào，老师lǎo shī已经yǐ jīng在zài上课shàng kè了liǎo。东dōng东dōng站zhàn在zài门口mén kǒu，不好意思bù hǎo yì si地dì说shuō：对不起duì bu qǐ，我wǒ迟到chí dào了liǎo。

At school the teacher had already started class. 东东 stood at the door and said awkwardly: sorry, I am late.

老师lǎo shī说shuō：没关系méi guān xi，进来jìn lái吧ba，下次xià cì早zǎo一yī点diǎn出门chū mén。

The teacher said: it is all right, come in, leave earlier next time.

晚上wǎn shang回家huí jiā，东dōng东dōng把bǎ闹钟nào zhōng往wǎng前qián调diào了liǎo半bàn个gè小时xiǎo shí。他tā想xiǎng：明天míng tiān一定yī dìng不bù能néng再zài迟到chí dào了liǎo。

That night 东东 set the alarm half an hour earlier, thinking: I must not be late again tomorrow.
